Research Library And Archives / Genealogy Tools / Resources and Links
A growing collection of historical documents, genealogy files, photographs, maps, books, and microfilms are available to the public for research.  These archives will soon be moved to basement of the Log Cabin which has more space and better environmental control and alarm system.

Future Farmers of America Log Cabin in Milton Ave. Park
Log cabin was originally constructed between 1934 and 1935 by students in the Future Farmers of America Milton High School Chapter.  The cabin was to be destroyed when Milton High School was moved to Freemanville Rd and a new STEM High School was built on the site.  AOMCHS with help of the City of Alpharetta and many donors was able to move the cabin and updated it.

Improvements included adding a 12' by 40' back room with 2 restrooms and a kitchen.  A 40' by 40' full basement was also added under the entire upper floor.  Two HVAC units were added to control temperature and humidity for personal comfort in upper floor and preserve the archives stored in basement.

Events and Programs
Members of the Society provide and partner on a variety of events and programs for the public which includes historical programs at local schools or on site at the FFA Log Cabin, the Mansell House and Gardens and the Museum in the new Alpharetta city Hall.  AOMCHS actively participants in community programs - Old Soldiers Day Parade and Taste of Alpharetta. Check out the upcoming programs and calendar of events which includes meeting dates, programs, and projects of AOMCHS.
